Chelsea are set to face Austrian side RB Salzburg in their fifth group stage game in the UEFA Champions League group stage at Red Bull Arena on Tuesday evening.
The Blues need a win to secure a place in the next round of the competition. The Blues drew the first leg against the Austrian side 1-1 at the Stamford Bridge and a win tonight will give them a better head to head.
Here are the three Chelsea players that deserve to start against Salzburg tonight.
1 Trevor Chalobah
The English defender has been putting up top notch performances since the absence of Wesley Fofana and Kalidou Koulibaly. The Academy graduate’s performance against Manchester United in their last match earned him the man of the match award from Chelsea and he deserves to start against the Austrian side tonight.
2 Mateo Kovacic
The former Real Madrid midfielder was one of the reasons why Chelsea didn’t lose against Manchester United in their last Premier League game.
Kovacic’s creativity and energy his needed in the midfield as Salzburg have a lot of young energetic midfielders.
3 Mason Mount
The former Derby County player is arguably Chelsea’s best forward since the arrival of Graham Potter. He creates chances and also score good goals. He is the type of player they need tonight against Salzburg.
