Former Crystal Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor has voiced amazement that Chelsea did not use a fourth of the over £1 billion they paid on ‘ordinary’ players to buy Harry Kane or Kylian Mbappe.
According to him, those in charge of the Blues should have burst the bank to sign Mbappe or Kane this summer.
The Blues spent £434.5 million throughout the summer, bringing their total spending in three transfer windows to more over £1 billion.
Despite this, the west London club has only collected four points from four games so far.
On Saturday, they were defeated 1-0 by Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
Chelsea fans blame the star for poor performance, urging him to be benched
“They’ve spent £1billion. Why didn’t Chelsea use a quarter of that money and go out and buy a star?” he said on talkSPORT.
“Go and give Paris Saint-Germain an offer for Mbappe that they can’t refuse.
“Harry Kane, ‘there you go, Daniel Levy. Whatever you want’. £150 million for Harry Kane and you’ve got two superstars.”
