Swallows FC chairman David Mogashoa has spoken out about speculation linking Birds defender Gregory Damons to Kaizer Chiefs.
With Amakhosi looking to boost their squad for the upcoming season, the former Cape Town Spurs right-back was said to be on his way to the Soweto giants.
Mogashoa has stated unequivocally that they have never held talks with the Chiefs over the 27-year-old defender.
Damons, he insisted, is “not going anywhere,” despite having only been with Swallows for one season.
“We haven’t had any discussions with the Chiefs about the player,”
Mogashoa told FARPost.
“So, the player isn’t leaving. He was also not scheduled to move this season.
“We can’t keep chopping and changing if we want to develop a good club. This has an impact on the club’s stability.
“As a result, we want to ensure that there is stability and continuity at the club.”
So, Gregory Damons isn’t leaving. He’s not moving to the Chiefs; instead, he’ll be staying with Swallows for the next season.

“We have a plan; we know which players we want to keep for continuity purposes every season.” We know which players can transfer to other clubs and for what money.
“So, Gregory has been with us for a season now.” He should not be moving at this time. We’d be murdering the player.
“As a result, we still want the player to gain confidence and stay with the club.” It is not the appropriate moment for him to relocate. I’m not going to let it happen.”

Meanwhile, the Chiefs have made three signings.
They announced the signing of Thatayaone Ditlhokwe on a pre-contract in January. Along with Mduduzi Mdantsane and Given Msimango, he will join the club ahead of the new season.
