Report: Final analysis after Arsenal defeats Chelsea 4-2 at Stamford Bridge and Current EPL table

Chelsea take on Arsenal at the Stamford Bridge for the English Premier League, EPL, match which will all but determine if Arsenal will qualify for the UEFA Champions League match come next season.

Before going into the Match, Arsenal knew that the match is a must win for them if they want to have any chance of playing European football next season since they are trailing Tottenham Football Club.

On the other hand, Chelsea may be sitting comfortably on the 3rd spot in the table but they knew that mathematically, they have not qualified for Champions League football next season and so they knew that a win for them will go a long way for them to qualify.

So, the home team under German Thomas Tuchel started the match with the following players; Eduoard Mendy, Reece James, Christensen, Sarr, Azpilicueta, Ruben Loftus Cheek, Ngolo Kante, Marcos Alonso, Mason Mount, Romelu Lukaku, and Timo Werner.

The visiting team under the guidance of young coach, Spanish Mikel Arteta started the match with the following players; Aaron Ramsdale, Nuno Taveres, Rob Holding, Ben White, Gabriel, Granit Xhaka, Mohamed Elneny, Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Emile Smith Rowe, and Eddie Nketiah.

The match started as expected and in the 5th minute, Mason Mount almost scored from a corner kick but a defender prevented it.

In the 13th minute, Arsenal scored the first goal through Eddie Nketiah after a mistake from Christensen when he tried to pass the ball back to the goalkeeper, 0 – 1.

In the 17th minute, Chelsea equalized through Timo Werner from a deflected shot, 1 – 1.

In the 27th minute, Emile Smith Rowe scored again to give Arsenal the lead, 1 – 2.

Chelsea made it 2 – 2 in the 32nd minute through captain Azpilicueta.

The second half of the match started and in the 57th minute, Eddie Nketiah doubled his goals and Arsenal’s 3rd goal of the match after a defensive error, 2 – 3.

Marcos Alonso latched onto a rebound in the 65th minute but a defender cleared his shot after a spectacular save from Ramsdale.

Arsenal was awarded a penalty in the 90th minute when captain Azpilicueta held Saka in the box and Saka scored the resulting penalty, 2 – 4.

The match ended 2 – 4 in favour of Arsenal.
