Kai Havertz of Chelsea has been forced to withdraw from the Germany team due to illness.
The Germany Football Association (DFB) confirmed that Havertz and defender Nico Schlotterbeck withdrew from their squads on Sunday due to illness and a thigh problem, respectively.
Havertz, who left for London on Sunday, started Germany’s 2-0 friendly win over Peru on Saturday.
He will not play in Germany’s upcoming match against Belgium on Tuesday.
Reece James, who had a hamstring injury, has also returned to the west London club, making Havertz the second Chelsea player to miss out on international duty this weekend.
The German international will try to recover in time for Chelsea’s next Premier League match on April 1 against Aston Villa.
