According to reports on Monday afternoon, Chelsea are expected to make a fourth official offer to Brighton for Moises Caicedo this week. Chelsea have previously turned down three bids for the Ecuador international, the most recent of which is thought to be worth £80 million in total.
Brighton are still out for £100 million for their star midfielder, despite Declan Rice leaving Arsenal for slightly more than that earlier in the summer transfer window. Caicedo is expected to play against newly promoted Luton Town at the Amex Stadium on Saturday.
That might change if Chelsea makes a breakthrough in ongoing negotiations. For the sake of both clubs, this must be handled as soon as possible.

Chelsea are also interested in signing Leeds United’s Tyler Adams. Any deal to sign the American midfielder would include Caicedo as well.

Adams’ contract at Elland Road includes a £20 million release clause in the event of the club’s relegation to the Championship. Chelsea are considering paying that provision, but there is no rush because Adams is still out with a hamstring injury suffered near the conclusion of last season.
