Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was promised the signing of AC Milan star Rafael Leao as part of his recent contract renewal, according to media outlet Fichajes via Goal.
Leo has been one of the most promising players over the last two seasons. He led AC Milan to their first Serie A title in a decade last season, for which he was named MVP. He’s off to a strong start this season, with six goals and four assists in 14 league games.
The contract of the Portuguese winger expires in 2024, and many clubs are looking to sign him for a low fee next summer in case he does not renew.
Manchester City will compete with Chelsea and Real Madrid for the transfer of the 23 year-old player, have been released with a clause of £75 million.
