Manchester City defeated Manchester United 2-1 in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, with Ilkay Gundogan scoring twice.
City, who are on their way to a treble, trounced United for their double and will complete the treble if they overcome Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League next Saturday.
A minute into the game, Ilkay Gundogan scored. He went to the ball on the box’s edge and blasted a first-time shot without hesitation. The strike was fantastic and landed inside the right post.
Three minutes later, Rodri showed terrific awareness near the penalty spot to get on the end of a free kick cross, but he guided his header narrowly wide of the goal.
Kevin De Bruyne had a terrific chance and sent a drive from the edge of the box that sailed just wide of the right post.
Marcus Rashford launched a rocket of a shot from the edge of the box seven minutes later, and his shot went just a few inches over the crossbar.
On 71 minutes, Gundogan thought to have completed his hat-trick, but the goal was disallowed owing to offside.
On 33 minutes, United equalized from the penalty spot. Bruno Fernandes raced up to the ball, came to a halt, and waited for Stefan Ortega to commit before converting the penalty into the lower left corner.

On 51 minutes, City made it 2-1. Gundogan completed his hat trick with a beautiful volley into the bottom left corner from the edge of the box, leaving the goalie powerless, with Kevin De Bruyne assisting.
De Bruyne raced past a couple defenders in the penalty area and hit a low effort to the left side of the goal on 62 minutes.
