According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Chelsea are not interested in re-signing Romelu Lukaku, so Inter have begun talks to extend the striker’s loan at the Stadio Meazza.
The Belgium international returned to Inter on a temporary deal last summer after a disappointing one-year spell at Stamford Bridge, where he had managed just 15 goals in 44 appearances.
According to Gazzetta, Inter and Chelsea directors have recently discussed the future of the 29-year-old given that the Nerazzurri don’t have an option to make his move permanent at the end of the season.
Chelsea are unwilling to bring the striker back and according to the report, they have decided that they won’t rely on him in the future.
Good News to fans, as Chelsea hijack target from rival Lukaku’s successor
To avoid a capital loss, the Blues need to sell the striker for around €70 million, so Inter intend to extend the striker’s loan for another season, while ‘Big Rom’ wants to stay at his current club and is not considering moving elsewhere.
