Following their pre-season friendly against Brighton, Chelsea fans were ecstatic with what they saw from their new arrivals. With an incisive finish in the first half, Christopher Nkunku scored his second goal in as many outings for the Blues.
In recent games, Mauricio Pochettino’s side has seen the new addition play as an out-and-out striker, and he appears to be settling in quickly.
He scored earlier this week in Chelsea’s 5-0 win against Wrexham, and he aims to be the missing piece in the Premier League puzzle.
He was replaced in the 63rd minute by fellow new acquisition Nicolas Jackson, who also hoped to make an immediate impression.
Thanks to his tremendous individual effort, the Senegalese international delivered some fantastic link-up play.
Jackson was energetic throughout and scored his first goal for the Blues with a powerful strike in the 76th minute.
Chelsea fans were all saying the same thing about their new acquisitions.
Opinion: Why Chelsea’s decision to make Nicolas Jackson their primary striker could backfire
“NICOLAS JACKSON IS HIM,” one fan said.
“NICOLAS JACKSON,” another person said. I’M RISING TO APPLAUSE YOU’RE A WORLD CLASS PERFORMER.”
“Nicholas Jackson has more open play assists in two games than Mason Mount has in his entire Chelsea career,” one delighted fan observed.
“Nkunku is a player destined for greatness,” one admirer said. “Goals in two games in a row!”
“Nkunku’s instinctive finish to equalize, exactly what Chelsea have been lacking,” observed another.
“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Nkunku is the signing of the summer in the Premier League,” a third remarked. He is truly gifted.”
