Pochettino’s time with his new Chelsea players began on Monday. Pochettino arrived at Cobham on Monday, accompanied by his assistant and head of conditioning, Jesus Perez.
Chelsea has prioritized fitness and creating a welcoming atmosphere, with the former Tottenham Hotspur manager hosting a traditional Argentine BBQ on Monday evening.
Pochettino is putting in a lot of effort with his new players. According to one insider,
“They have been really worked, it has been a harder first week than the entire last pre-season.”
“They’ll be machines, this year will be different, these boys are getting worked.”
This news is likely to excite many Chelsea fans after the club failed to win any trophies and finished in a disappointing 12th place previous season.
When it comes to player quality, the Blues have one of the strongest teams in the Premier League, but Pochettino now has the burden of bringing them to work together as a coherent unit, something Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter, and Frank Lampard all failed to do in 2022/23.
