Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Chelsea, has stated unequivocally that he did not authorise the signing of Cole Palmer from Manchester City.
Pochettino expressed his disapproval of Chelsea’s recent signing player, stating that he is not part of the team’s plans.
The Argentine stated that the club’s sporting directors, Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley, came up with the idea to sign the child.
On Friday, the 21-year-old England youth team standout was introduced as a Blues player.
Palmer was released by the Premier League champions for a cost of £40 million.
Despite the fact that it was not his idea, Pochettino praised the English player, stating he fits into his project.
Pochettino told reporters ahead of the Blues’ match against Nottingham Forest:
“I think the sporting director and the owner, of course, but the sporting director, it was his idea to add him to the squad.” I believe he is qualified for the job. Of course, he’s a talented player.”
