The Kaizer Chiefs are undertaking squad renovations. A new coach and possibly a new captain are now being considered.
Amakhosi management has made it obvious that they intend to send an extra coach to Naturena.
Furthermore, because Itumeleng Khune is no longer assured a starting spot, the captaincy scenario could change.
CHIEFS LOOKING FOR AN EXTRA COACH
The management of Amakhosi wants to bring in another coach to assist Arthur Zwane.
The Chiefs have been attempting to hire an additional coach. It’s not a new concept. It’s new now because there haven’t been any outcomes.
“It’s Zwane’s first season, and despite his achievements, he still has a lot to learn,” a source acknowledged to SoccerLaduma.
PSL: Kaizer Chiefs seek reinforcement from Zimbabwean sensation
OPEN LETTER TO KAIZER CHIEFS: FORGET PITSO MOSIMANE, NATURENA NEEDS BENNI MCCARTHY.
That means the Glamour Boys could have co-coaches next season.
Pitso Mosimane and Manqoba Mngqithi have been mentioned as possible possibilities. Former coach Molefi Ntseki was even offered a coaching role, but he turned it down. With a new coach in place, the potential of a new captain emerges. Especially now that Khune is no longer the first choice.
AMAKHOSI’S NEW CAPTAIN?
This season, we’ve seen Keagan Dolly and Yusuf Maart take the captain’s armband in place of Khune. Khune is now Zwane’s second choice in goal, with Brandon Peterson favored.
As a result, Zwane and any future coach that comes to Naturena will have to make a major decision.
Either Khune’s starting position must be restored, or they must choose between Dolly and Maart. If Khune does not reclaim his starting spot, it appears likely Dolly will lead Amakhosi next season. Dolly, on the other hand, is nearing the end of his career.
As a result, management must explore additional long-term choices such as Maart, Zitha Kwinika, and new recruit Given Msimango.
