One of the English Premier League, EPL, giants, Manchester City have finally confirmed the signing of Leeds United midfielder, Kalvin Phillips following a £42million agreement with the Jesse Marsch’s side over the player’s transfer to the Etihad Stadium ahead of next season.
Phillips, 26 is no doubt one of the best defensive midfielders in the world of football with his skills, tenacity, ability to tackle and high interception rate in the heart of the midfield making him to attract interest from several clubs across Europe.
However, the Pep Guardiola’s side have managed to move ahead of their rivals and clinch the deal with him now putting pen to paper, a six-year contract at the Blue half of Manchester.
The England international now becomes the Sky Blues’ second marque signing this summer, following the arrival of Norwegian superstar, Erling Haaland to the Etihad few weeks ago from Bundesliga side, Borussia Dortmund in a whooping €75million deal. Meanwhile, 18 year old Darko Gyabi has moved to the Elland Road as part of the Phillips transfer.
