Good news for Kaizer Chiefs fans as veteran defender Sifiso Hlanti is set to stay with the team for the upcoming season, providing a much-needed boost. Hlanti, who has played for various local teams over the past decade, has become an important member of the Chiefs squad since joining in 2021.
Kaizer Chiefs: The experienced Bafana Bafana left-back is highly regarded for his experience and leadership, which is valuable as the Chiefs undergo a rebuilding phase.
Although his contract is expiring at the end of the season, reports suggest that the club intends to extend his stay, possibly on a short-term deal with the option for a one-year extension. This news comes after the departure of Erick Mathoho, one of the longest-serving players at Kaizer Chiefs, who left the club after the conclusion of the 2022/23 DStv Premiership season.
Mathoho had been with the team since 2012 and was appreciated for his loyalty to the club. Kaizer Motaung, the chairman of Chiefs, expressed his gratitude for Mathoho’s commitment and love for the club, noting that he could have pursued opportunities overseas but chose to remain with the team.
