They went into the game knowing exactly that they have to win to make sure that they get a victory, Kaizer Chiefs knew that they have to come out and throw everything at their visitors in search for an equalizer after having gone into the break trailing by 2-1, they applied pressure to Swallows FC as they were looking for a second goal to level matters, they had up to 12 corner kicks but none of them was converted into a goal, they were all wasted with just one nearly causing trouble for The Dube Birds, that was a header from Siyabonga Ngezana, but the ball struck the upright much to the disappoinment of the tall defender.

Keegan Allan required urgebt medical attention after he collapsed following a challenge with Dylan Solomon, the referee Mr Enock Muvhali was seen rushing to the bench to get the oxygen cylinder as he assisted the medical staff who were already on the pitch, the player was given first aid and everyone was clapping when he was up on his feet walking off the pitch on his own without being carried on a stretcher.

With just a minute to play, Chiefs won corner number 16 and still there was no goal for Amakhosi, despite having added a couple of seconds, the referee blew the final whistle shortly after the corner kick and that meant a defeat for the Nedbank Cup semi-finalists, the win for Swallows meant that they are safe from relegation and Chiefs should forget about playing in Champions League.
