Christian Pulisic, known as ‘the LeBron James of soccer’, made his first-team debut for Borussia Dortmund in January 2016. He quickly established himself as a crucial member of the senior side, and in January 2019, he was brought to Chelsea in anticipation of Eden Hazard leaving the club.
Pulisic’s first goals came in late-October, but he showed some fine form for the Blues before the coronavirus pandemic stopped professional football for months. His performance in front of empty stadiums was outstanding, and many Chelsea fans still make reference to him. Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard praised Pulisic, comparing him to Eden Hazard.
Pulisic’s injuries took a toll on him, and he missed plenty of football and struggled to recover quickly. This ultimately cost him at Chelsea, as he was never the first-choice on the wing. This summer, he completed a permanent move to AC Milan, leaving Chelsea after years of speculation over his future.
Despite having a fantastic amount of talent, Chelsea never really worked for Pulisic on a personal level. He has started well for Milan and should continue to do so.
