Chelsea were undoubtedly connected with Caicedo, but obtaining the Ecuadorian’s signature may prove difficult. Manchester United and Arsenal have both been linked with the Brighton star.
Caicedo’s first Premier League season performances drew the attention of some of Europe’s major clubs. However, it looks that Chelsea are the frontrunners in the hunt to sign the 21-year-old sensation.
With Rice expected to arrive at the Emirates Stadium in the coming weeks, Arsenal may have established Chelsea’s largest roadblock to a deal. On Friday, the England star will have a physical and finalize the details of his transfer.
