Stan Collymore, a former Liverpool forward, has advised Chelsea to sell players like Raheem Sterling, Kai Havertz, and Hakim Ziyech at the end of the season because they are considered a surplus at the club.

This comes after the trio has failed to impress at Chelsea so far this season, leaving them in 10th place on the Premier League table after 17 games.

“They have two ageing players in Thiago Silva and Cesar Azpilecueta on one end of the spectrum and Mason Mount and Reece James on the other,” Collymore told CaughtOffside.

They have two ageing players in Thiago Silva and Cesar Azpilecueta, but they also have Mason Mount and Reece James,” Collymore told CaughtOffside.

Despite the slump, Graham Potter remains confident in the support of Chelsea’s owners

They have got to build around the next generation and that will take time. So, I believe Todd Boehly [Chelsea co-owner] should consider giving Graham Potter the summer transfer window and allowing him to sign some top-quality 21- to 24-year-old players to supplement Mount and James.”

“They also have big decisions to make on some players, Raheem Sterling, for example. Do they stick together or twist? I don’t believe he is doing enough to merit a long-term future at Stamford Bridge. The same is true for Kai Havertz.
