The Chelsea football club was put up for sale by the club owner Roman Abramovich at the beginning of this month, which so many parties showed interest of being the next owner of the club.

Although, the whole sale process was halted when the UK government announced the sanction on the Chelsea owner, but the sale of the club has been given the green light to go ahead by the UK government, which The Raine Group, an American based bank is task with the responsibility of overseeing the whole process of selling the club to a new worthy owner.

The deadline set for the submission of official bids has passed, which was set at 9pm on Friday. It is now believed that the Raine Group are currently evaluating the bids that they received, since on Friday. They are expected to send notification of rejection to offers that are considered to be weak, and also notify the owners of offers that passed the first stage of the process.

1. Less Than 10 Serious Official Bids Was Received

Despite so many parties showing interest in the club earlier, it has been revealed that the serious offers that was received after the deadline are less than 10 serious bids.

Some of the confirmed bidders includes The Suadi Media Group, consortium led by Todd Boehly and Hansjorg Wyss, The Consortium led by Nick Candy, and few others.

Turkish billionaire Muhsin Bayrak is one of the earlier stated interested party who didn’t meet up with the deadline to make a bid for the club.

2. Announcement Of The Preferred Bidders To Be Made This Week

The Raine Group are hoping to conclude the sales process of the club as soon as possible, and the end of March has been proposed for the completion of the takeover of the club.

Notifications of rejection of weak offers, and the notifications of the preferred bidders are expected to be done before the end of this week.

The Raine Group would notify the parties that their offers are considered to be good enough before the end of this week, then they can proceeds to the next phase of the process, and also request for a special license from the UK government, which will permit the sale of the club to go through.

3. Marina Granovskaia And Bruce Buck Has A Role In Chosen The Next Chelsea Owner

According to recent reports, Chelsea Chairman Bruce Buck, and director Marina Granovskaia will both have a role to play in the selection of who will become the next Chelsea owner, after the Raine Group make a shortlist of preferred bidders.

Some parties were reported to have a meeting with the Chelsea directors earlier last week, it is left to be seen, which party would win the race to become the new owner of the club.
