Chelsea beat the Reds 5-0 in the opening friendly match of their US trip. The Blues were all over the Welsh club, leaving no room for a comeback.
And, following a dismal setback, club co-owner Rob McElhenney has issued a warning to Chelsea. Wrexham AFC had to learn a painful lesson in 90 minutes.
Chelsea, meanwhile, thumped Wrexham 5-0. The Londoners opened the score in less than three minutes. From start to finish, the Blues dominated. As a result, the Red Dragons scored their first goal in the 78th minute.
However, it appears that the Wrexham humiliating loss to Chelsea has changed McElhenney’s mind, as he has set a five-year timetable to meet Chelsea in the Premier League. The Red Dragons will face a difficult but not impossible job. Luton Town might be the finest example.
After a humiliating setback to the Londoners, all eyes will be on the Red Dragons. The fans will be hoping that the club and the players recover from the unfortunate loss.
Following the 5-0 loss, the Reds co-owner took to Twitter and posted,
“Thank You Chelsea!!!” We hope to see you again in 5 years or such.” That’s quite a goal from the ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ star.
Reynolds and McElhenney want to play in the Premier League within the next ten years.
