After seeing Liverpool hold Chelsea to a goalless draw in the first half of their FA cup final at Wembley Stadium, Thomas Tuchel should have made some necessary changes.
1. Chelsea lacked a great cutting edge all through the first half because of lack of wing deliveries. He should have started the 2nd half with Hakim Ziyech ahead of Christian Pulisic so that balls can be delivered to Romelu Lukaku in the box.
2. Liverpool easily took control of the midfield through Thiago Alcantara, he should have brought in Ngolo Kante to help take back the midfield from Liverpool as the effect was too much for Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic to handle.
3. Luis Diaz mounted much pressure on Chalobag which made Reece James to track back instead of pushing much attack and it took a toll on Chelsea’s attacking power. He should have brought in Azpilicueta from the beginning of the second half to help stop Diaz and allow James to move forward more.
4. Finally, Tuchel should have substituted Marcos Alonso, take Rudiger to the left, Azoilicueta to the right, Thiago Silva in the middle and than add more attacker to help Lukaku and others break down Liverpool’s defence line.
