Chinoso Chibueze, a Golden Eaglets-eligible winger, signed his first professional contract with Chelsea three weeks ago without disclosing the length of the contract.
Chelsea confirmed this on Sunday, informing their official website that Chibueze has turned professional, agreeing to a contract that will keep him at the club until at least the summer of 2025.
Chibueze is one of two wingers of Nigerian descent to have signed a professional contract with Chelsea in recent weeks, the other being England U17 international Tyrique George.
Chibueze, who was born in London, will now continue his footballing education at Chelsea U18s under Nigerian manager Hassan Sulaiman, who has agreed to become the new coach of Chelsea U18s after making the step up from the U16s.
Since joining Chelsea from west London rivals Fulham at the end of the U10 season, the 17-year-old has played nonstop. Chibueze started and played for 59 minutes before being replaced by George as Chelsea lost 4-1 to Arsenal in an U18 Premier League London derby at the weekend.
Tudor Mendel-Idowu and Louis Flower both played the entire game for the young Blues, while Arsenal starlet Ethan Nwaneri also did.
